With the sound of a cannon blast at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 21, the Star Valley Medical Center Charitable Foundation Second Annual Mountain Man Triathlon will be underway in Alpine.
Joel Johnson, foundation executive director, reported 25 competitors had already registered for the event featuring swimming, bicycling and running.
Late registrations will be accepted at the event planning session on Friday, at 7 p.m. in the big white tent next to the Donn Wooden Civic Center.
“This event has grown and we are pleased to be a part of Alpine Mountain Days,” said Johnson.
The first part of the triathlon will feature a 600 meter swim across the Snake River, followed by a 15K bicycle route to the airport and through the Alpine foothill area and then it will conclude with a 6K run along the Greys River and back to the Civic Center.
