The 2014 Star Valley Relay for Life will take place July 18-19 at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds. The event is designed to raise money for cancer research and raise cancer awareness in the community.
The event will kick off Friday, July 18 at 6 p.m. with a survivor’s lap, teams lap and an opening ceremony.
“After that the team booths will be open with items they are selling to raise money,” said Sierra Mitchell, one of the event organizers. “We will have live entertainment going on as well with dance groups and music groups performing.”
The Luminary Ceremony, where victims of cancer are remembered with lighted bags, will take place when it gets dark, Mitchell said. The estimated start time of the luminary ceremony is 9:30 p.m.
“The activities will continue throughout the night,” said Mitchell. “Then we will have a community breakfast on Saturday morning.”
Breakfast will be served at 7 a.m. The event will wrap up at 8 a.m.
