Sergeant William Spaulding, of Star Valley, has been appointed first sergeant of the Wyoming Army National Guard’s Joint Forces Headquarters.
The action took place on Sunday, Aug. 17, during a Change of Responsibility Ceremony at the Joint Forces Readiness Center in Cheyenne.
Spaulding replaces 1st. Sgt. Mari Sierocki, who is retiring after a 35-year career.
“I hope I can help the unit become more cohesive, more fluent,” Spaulding said of his new role. “I’ll try to set us up for success.”
Prior to his new appointment, Spaulding served as a first sergeant with the 1041st Engineer Company.
In 2012, Spaulding was assigned to the operations directorate of Joint Forces Headquarters.
He has been a member of the Wyoming Army National Guard for 24 years.
