An ATV accident in the Strawberry Canyon area of Star Valley injured a local man on Saturday, June 6. The call for aid came into the dispatch center at approximately 11:30 a.m.
According to information provided by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Ross Dana, 66, was riding a four-wheeler with his grandson, Dyson Bugaso, 10, when the accident occurred.
“It appears that the throttle on the four-wheeler became jammed and the driver lost control,” said Captain Brian Andrews of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department. “The situation resulted in a wreck.”
Star Valley Search and Rescue, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, and EMS services responded to the area. According to Andrews, initial rescue and response efforts were hindered because of terrain. Star Valley Search and Rescue aided in efforts to reach Dana, Andrews said. Dana suffered a leg injury in the accident and was transported to Star Valley Medical Center for treatment. Bugaso was evaluated for injury, but not transported for medical treatment.
