The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest and filed charges in a case that involved an investigation started in December. According to a law enforcement report, in December, 2015, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office took a report of missing prescription medication from a home. The victim stated that over a period of time it was noticed that prescription medication was missing from medicine bottles in the home.
After reporting this to the individual’s physician it was recommended that a report be filed with county law enforcement. A report was filed with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and the victim was advised to take certain precautions with the medications including setting up a camera when not home.
Law enforcement authorities reported that a few weeks later the LC Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the victim with further information regarding the alleged theft of prescription medication. Acting on the additional information, Melanie Robinson, 48, of Afton, WY was interviewed at the LC Sheriff’s Office and subsequently booked into the Lincoln County Jail with charges of alleged Burglary and alleged Possession of a Controlled Substance. Both are felony charges. Robinson is listed as an English teacher on the Lincoln County School District No. 2- Star Valley High School website.
