Dereck James “DJ” Harrison was sentenced in a Farmington, Utah courtroom on Monday, October 24, where he will serve no fewer than 30 years in prison for his role in kidnapping a woman and her four daughters.
According to KSL.com, “Monday’s sentencing hearing also revealed disturbing details about the conversation between Harrison and his father before the two forced the Clinton woman and her teenage daughters into a Centerville basement where they were threatened, beaten and held at gunpoint.”
He was sentenced to at least 30 years in prison which includes “four concurrent sentences of 15 years to life with a fifth 15 years to life term running consecutively.”
Harrison and his father, Flint Wayne, were also arrested and charged in Lincoln County Wyoming where they allegedly beat Kay Porter Ricks to death approximately 16 miles outside of Kemmerer. Ricks, a Utah Transit Authority (UTA) worker was driven to the area in his stolen truck.
DJ Harrison is still expected to stand trial in Lincoln County. SVI is currently working with Allred on a statement in light of the sentencing and that interview will be added here.
