Lincoln County Treasurer Kathy Tomassi officially announced her resignation February 17, 2017. Her final day in office will be Friday, March 31, 2017.
“I’m retiring,” she said of her decision to leave office. “I am doing it for very positive reasons. I have truly enjoyed my time with the county. I have loved the campaigning and the work and the people I have worked with. Sure I have had the occasional hard day. But for the most part, at least 99 percent of the time, I have really enjoyed my time.”
According to Tomassi, in recent months she as been reflecting on all of things she wants to do with her time. Spending time with her two grandchildren, ages one and three, top the list.
“There are lots of places I want to see and things that I want to do,” she said. “I started thinking that I should really get to doing them while I am able to. So that is what I am doing. I am healthy and happy and I want to make some time to really enjoy my life. My motto has become to live with joy and health and that is what I am going to do.”
Pual Scherbal with the Lincoln County Republican Party said the vacancy created by Mrs. Tomassi’s resignation will be filled by the Board of Lincoln County Commissioners from a list of three names provided by the Lincoln County Republican Party’s Central Committee. Consequently, the Lincoln County Republican Party’s Central Committee is currently accepting applications for Lincoln County Treasurer.
