During the first six months of 2017, Yellowstone has hosted 1.3 million visitors, down approximately 5.5 percent from 2016.
Zions Bank’s Montpelier financial center is located at 902 Washington Street, in a 107-year-old brick building originally built by the Bank of Montpelier in 1910. Prior to that time, the Bank of Montpelier, which was established in 1891, was housed just down the street in a location that was robbed by Butch Cassidy and his gang on August 13, 1896. That building now houses the Butch Cassidy Museum, where the vault is currently on display.
Visitors should be careful with heavy truck traffic on the narrow road. Under a temporary agreement with the Bridger- Teton National Forest, the gravel will be hauled beyond the trailhead and dumped periodically along the trail in preparation for a Scout work day on Saturday. Visitors in town this week may want to delay their hikes up to the spring until evening hours.

A famous white wolf wolf was shot near the Montana border. National Park Service law enforcement believes the incident took place April 10 or 11.
