Reports of a suspicious package had area first responders and law enforcement officials diverting traffic away from downtown Afton on Friday afternoon in the vicinity of Wells Fargo Bank. The package in question was taken in as evidence in an ongoing investigation and the all clear was given at approximately 5 p.m. Friday evening.

Wade Richard Farrow was taken into custody without incident as a suspect in the murder of Tony Hansen. The case was originally scheduled for June 30, 2015. A joint motion to vacate the scheduling order was filed and granted as well as an illness of the defense counsel. The trial will finally begin on Monday, September 26, 2016.
